Yakeen Service and Qias

Time: 2003

Place: The National Center for Measurements and Assessment "Qias"

The Event: The Yakeen service discloses cases of impersonation, and prevents errors in the data of those who take the tests of the center.

The Spokesman: Mr. Fahd Abdu—Rahman Al-Sha'laan, the Financial and Administrative manager in "Qias".

"Qias" would have never been able to assume its responsibilities except for the existence of a comprehensive service to audit the data of those who are being tested and verify its correctness.

The Challenge:

Immediate check of the correctness of the personal data for any one who takes the tests of the center, and check the conformity of the data with the official records.

Avoid forgery and falsification, and avoid repeated errors in registering the data of those who take the tests and such other things that lead those who deserve to lose acceptance opportunities.

The Action:

The Yakeen service provides the "Qias" Center with immediate check on the data of the persons being tested, from the governmental records.

The Result:

"Qias" is able to do more than 350.000 tests per year, without any errors in the data of those being tested.

The possibility of intentional and non-intentional errors is eliminated, such errors exceed 2% per year.

A Hint:
The National Center for Measurements and Assessment "Qias" assumes one of the most vital missions in relation to forming the picture of the scientific and Academic future of KSA, through preparing and performing the measurement tests for knowledge and skills in different fields, especially in the field of university acceptance.

If this is the main form on the role played by "Qias, there is a essence which is no less in sensitivity, which is clear in the mission of the center to achieve justice and to guarantee equality in the high education opportunities, based upon correct scientific principals, as depending solely on the degree of the student in the high school is a method that lacks the required justice to know the real qualifications and skills, in order to direct and place the respective person in the suitable place.

The Story

Lately, the persons working for the National Center for Measurements and Assessment "Qias" that the lofty mission needs lofty tools and means. Thus, when the "Qias" center depended on "Yakeen, this gave more than the indication at the same time.

Mr. Fahd Al-Sha'lan spoke very clearly about the relation of the Yakeen service with the National Center for Measurements and Assessment "Qias" very clearly and with the maximum transparency, saying: Qias would have never been able to assume its responsibilities except for the existence of a comprehensive service that plays the role of the "Yakeen" service, regardless of the name. We built our conviction on a comprehensive study and many consultations that warned us from the problems that might hinder the center from achieving its centers, if it started its role in the absence of a comprehensive service to check the data of the persons being tested and verify its correctness.

Mr. Fahd Abdu—Rahman Al-Sha'laan, the Financial and Administrative manager in "Qias", and he confirms that the Yakeen service was able, in a semi-complete way, to prevent all the possibilities of errors in the data of those who apply for the tests, either through intentional forging and falsification, or through un-intentional errors in registering data, especially in relation to the Civil Statistics number which is considered the main factor in accepting students in universities, according to what is registered in the results that "Qias" receives.

Mr. Al-Sha'laan speaks in numbers saying: The amount of intentional and non-intentional errors in the data of the applicants reaches 2% of 350.000 tests that the center makes yearly. And the Yakeen service has taken the responsibility, since we participated in it, to discover and avoid all these cases. Moreover, the service made the students avoid any negative impact of such errors, especially losing the opportunity to be accepted in universities when the opportunity goes to someone else who does not deserve it. This is against the main function of the center, which is based on achieving the concept of equality of opportunities.

Mr. Al-Sha'laan continues, saying: We had some cases where the documents of some applicants were regular. However, the "Yakeen" service rejected then. Every time, after revision with respective authorities, we discover that there is some error in registering the data, and that the decision of Yakeen was more accurate. Through such situations, we had greater confidence in this service, Especially that we see that Al-Elm company for Information Security is always keen on developing its services, so we reached the "Yakeen" online service that gives us the opportunity to get correct results from data within seconds from the time data is sent.
